Signing for Babies

This 30-minute class is offered for children ages 6 months (sitting on thier own) to 18 months and thier parents. In this class children and parents will learn signs adapted to fit into a baby's world. Learning sign language as a baby helps many developmental areas: babies begin to connect the thoughts they have with the actions and item they are related to, then by listening to the parents repitition of the signing vocabulary the baby will learn the sign-spoken word connection. Babies that sign show signs of less frustration during thier "pre-talking" age due to the fact that they can express themselves. Also' children that learned sign language as babies are more likely to have a diverse vocabulary at a younger age.
